Construction work is well under way on the £67 billion super-city, which in the end will be home to two million people. The idea is to make KAEC into a global logistic and manufacturing hub and region

Dholera SIR and smart city is one of the pet projects of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and a part of Delhi – Mumbai Industrial Corridor. Dholera SIR future city is a major project under the DMIC Project an aim to make it a global manufacturing hub supported by world class infrastructure. first phase of Dholera (SIR) will become operational by 2019 with several industrial units and population of around 1 lakh people living in it. It would be the one of the world’s largest urban development project worth more than  $12 billion when completed.

3. Songdo International Business District (IBD) – South Korea

Songdo has been developed across more than 1,000 acres of reclaimed land. Songdo IBD is widely considered the world’s most technologically advanced, sustainable and successful greenfield city. Songdo IBD will include one hundred million square feet of office, residential, retail, hotel and public space. The city, more than 65% completed, already has more than 45,000 residents , it will be home to 65,000 residents when completed in 2020. Project will cost around $35 billion

4 . Masdar City – UAE 

Masdar City, which is being constructed near Abu Dhabi, will rely entirely on solar energy and other renewable energy sources, and hopes to become the first zero-carbon, zero-waste city of the world. Phase one of the city is already completed.

By 2020, Masdar is expected to house 7,000 residents and 12,000 commuters from Abu Dhabi.

As designed, the city would be home to 45,000 to 50,000 people and 1,500 businesses when completed in 2030. Masdar city will cost around $18 billion when fully completed .

5. GIFT City – Gujarat International Finance Tec-City, India

While the crown jewel will be the 400 metre tall diamond tower, GIFT will have a total of 11 buildings of over 150 metres tall and a total of 319 high-rise buildings.

The estimated cost of the entire project is $12 billion.
Gift city would be home to to 50,000 when fully completed in 2025.

Expected to be completed in 2022 it will be able to accommodate more than one million residents with facilities like 150 schools, 50 hospitals, several parks, shopping malls and universities. The island’s perimeter will have a Formula 1 quality racetrack. Another highlight is the Azerbaijan Tower – ready to set record for world’s tallest building in the world at 1, 050 meters, breaking Burj Khalifa’s record by 222 meters.Project will cost around $100 billion

8 . Madinat Al-Hareer, Kuwait ($94 billion)

The ambitious Silk City will be built in approximately 25 years on an area of 250 kilometers. Burj Mubarak al-Kabir will be the focal point of the city in Northern Kuwait with the height of 1, 001 meters, the height resembles the folk tale One Thousand and One Arabian Nights, from where Aladdin comes. city will cost $94 billion when fully completed.

9. Forest City , China

When talk about “Top 10 Future cities of the world” how can we miss china. China’s most ambitious projects — a plan to build a “smart” city for 500,000 people, from scratch, on four man-made islands in South-East Asia. It is being built in the Strait of Johor, between Singapore and Malaysia

Forest City will include sky gardens, its own duty free zone, man-made lakes and beaches, commercial buildings, schools, medical facilities and even its own water supply. Forest City will be completed in 2035 and project will cost around $40 billion
